WMS Invident and YMS Sophia enhance cosmetics logistics at Avon’s largest manufacturing facility worldwide

Avon Operations Polska – Case study wdrożenia WMS Invident i YMS Sophia (linia produkcyjna)

About Avon Operations Polska

Avon Operations Polska is one of the key pillars of Avon’s global logistics and distribution network. The company has been operating in Poland since 1992, supporting an extensive network of consultants and delivering a broad portfolio of cosmetic products to international markets.

The Avon factory in Garwolin is the company’s largest and most technologically advanced manufacturing site worldwide. The associated logistics center is responsible for distributing cosmetic products across the Central and Eastern Europe region. Avon Operations Polska processes thousands of orders daily, ensuring on-time fulfillment, high service quality, and full compliance with global corporate standards.

System Operation

In response to growing operational workloads and increasing requirements for faster order fulfillment, Avon Operations Polska decided to implement two integrated OPTIDATA solutions: WMS Invident and YMS Sophia.

Challenge

The company required a solution capable of effectively managing a complex warehouse structure, reducing operational errors, and improving transport coordination. Rising order volumes, a wide variety of logistics units, and the need for precise inventory control demanded advanced system capabilities. At the same time, it was essential to improve yard traffic efficiency to eliminate queues, reduce downtime, and prevent delays in outbound shipments.

Solution

The implementation of WMS Invident enabled full automation of warehouse processes – from goods receipt and storage location management to inventory control, picking, and shipment preparation. The system supports multiple types of logistics units, tracks product batches and expiration dates, and ensures complete traceability across warehouse operations.

YMS Sophia was deployed to manage vehicle traffic within the facility. The system automates appointment scheduling using advanced planning and time-slot optimization algorithms. Dock doors are assigned in real time based on punctuality metrics, minimization of on-site handling time, and optimized travel paths for warehouse staff after unloading. Through integration with WMS Invident, data flow between the warehouse and the yard became fully synchronized, significantly improving operational continuity and overall throughput.
